Who publishes this, and why

The bakery, the affiliate program, the way the pieces are written, and the address that answers.

The bakery

The Early Shift is kept by VITRINE DO PAO PANIFICADORA E CONFEITARIA LTDA, a bakery and pastry shop registered in Brazil under CNPJ 15.801.714/0001-76, at Rua Quinze de Novembro, São Judas, Tatuí, SP, 18276-010, Brazil. The shop's trade is bread, pastry, counter coffee and orders for celebrations. The reading section is a side activity of the same company, run by the same people and answerable at the same address.

What else the company does, stated plainly

Alongside the counter, the company is enrolled in an independent affiliate program for wellness products sold by retailers in the United States. That means two things. It publishes reading material in English, of which these pages are the start. And it may publish spoken video presentations that, near their end, introduce a product sold by one of those retailers. When that happens, the retailer is named, the company's relationship to it is stated, and any purchase happens over at the retailer, on that retailer's own terms. Nothing in the reading section is a disguised recommendation; if a page leads somewhere commercial, the page says so.

How a piece gets written

Each read starts with one habit of a working day and with the published studies that looked at it: outdoor light after waking, the composition of a first meal, the timing of caffeine, a short walk once dinner is over. We read what was compared, what was found and what was not found, then write it for a man with a job and a quarter of an hour. Three rules hold throughout.

  1. Patterns are described; outcomes are never promised, and no typical result is quoted, since none exists.
  2. Conditions are not named and are not advised on. Where a habit might cross paths with a medication or a diagnosis, the page says so and sends the reader to a physician.
  3. No testimonials, no before-and-after stories, no borrowed authority.

What the section is not

It is not medical advice and no physician is replaced by it. Nothing is collected about a reader except the trace the host keeps in order to serve the page, which the privacy notes describe.

Where to write

A question about a read, a correction, or a request about personal data goes to contato@vitrinedopao.com, in English or Portuguese. Post reaches the address above. A retailer, researcher or editor who wants to talk about the section writes to the same place.
